HMD Global is preparing to launch its affordable flagship Nokia-branded Android phone next month. The phone maker has started sending media invites to an event in London on August 16th, just days after a Nokia 8 was leaked. The Nokia 8 launch is imminent on August 16th event, and it will mark the first time Nokia-branded Android device ships with Carl Zeiss optics.
Nokia 8 is rumored to be the affordable flagship that will go against likes of OnePlus 5 and other so-called flagship killers. It will be powered by Snapdragon 835 and will also feature Dual-Lens Zeiss camera. Nokia 8 will come with a 5.3-inch Quad HD screen. Based on leaked images, the display will have a 2.5D glass on top, capacitive buttons, a fingerprint scanner in the home button.
Nokia 8 launch will mark the resurrection of the iconic brand. However, the company has failed to deliver in the Indian market. Nokia 6 has not made it to the Indian market yet while Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 are already available.
Here is a quick look at the leaked specs:
- Dual-SIM support
- 151.55 mm x 73.7 mm
- 5.3-inch, QHD resolution display
- Snapdragon 835
- 4GB RAM
- 64 GB ROM
