A controversy has emerged regarding the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 2023 deal during the Flipkart Big Billion Days sale. Social media users claim that Flipkart and Samsung are offering the Galaxy S21 FE Exynos 2100 version at the advertised deal price, rather than the Snapdragon 888 model they had initially promised.
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 2023 Deal
The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 2023 deal has faced criticism from users on Flipkart. Initially, Flipkart had advertised the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 2023 smartphone with the Snapdragon 888 chipset, priced at just ₹29,999 for a 256GB variant which was quite an attractive deal. But later a 128GB variant was introduced at the same price. The 128GB variant is not even listed on Samsung’s website. The spec sheet also mentions a single 256GB variant.
To provide some context, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE was launched in India with the Exynos 2100 chipset in January 2022, while the Snapdragon 888 variant became available in July of the same year.
Interestingly, the Exynos 2100 version was temporarily unavailable when the Snapdragon variant was introduced during the sale, but it has resurfaced on Flipkart.
Although the Snapdragon 888 chipset may not be the latest, a nearly 50 per cent discount made it an appealing option. However, two days into the sale (including the 1-day early access period), users allege that Flipkart quietly replaced the Snapdragon 888 variant with the less powerful Exynos 2100 model in the deal.
Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 2023 Snapdragon 888 variant is being sold on Flipkart for ₹31,999, which is ₹2,000 more than the advertised price, although it still represents a discount from its original price of ₹49,999. Only the Exynos 2100 model was available for ₹29,999 on Flipkart. To be fair, it’s possible that the Galaxy S21 FE Snapdragon 888 version may have been briefly available at the promoted price, and the deal may have been altered later, but there is no confirmation of this.
Flipkart and Samsung have not issued any official statements on the matter yet. However, now the Exynos variant is available for ₹28,999 after the discount while the Snapdragon variant is priced at ₹31,999 but you can get it for ₹29,999.
Tech-savvy individuals can discern the chipset differences from the product listings, but ordinary consumers might be confused and might unintentionally purchase the Exynos variant instead of the Snapdragon one. If you’re considering purchasing the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, it’s advisable to double-check which chipset you are getting.
