The Honor 7X is an amazing device at an unbelievable price. It gives you a taste of all modern trends like dual cameras, thin Bezels which results in a bigger 18:9 screen. The device is very well sculpted and has a premium feel to it. The all-new Honor 7X comes with a tagline “Max Your View” referring to the big 18:9 display.
Let’s review the device and find out why it is the best value Android device available in the market.
Design
The Honor 7X impresses at the first look. It is not jaw-dropping but the device has a very 2017 feel. The big screen will instantly catch your eye which covers 82.9% screen to body ratio. The device is not as good as the high-end phones like Samsung Galaxy S8 or the iPhone X but it does manage to beat the Pixel2 XL in a screen to body ratio which only claims 76.4.
You might not like the square screen in an all-round body, but you eventually get used to it. The device is available in Blue, Black and Gold color variants which are only visible on the sides and back. The rounded edges provide a good grip on the phone and the matte finish on the metal back feels premium.
I love the fact that the phone is not prone to fingerprints which is the case with most phones these days. At the back, there is a dual camera setup with a slight hump and a LED Flash sitting right next to it. The camera setup interrupts the antenna lines at the top, while the fingerprint sensor is placed slightly below the camera.
There is a power button and the volume rockers on the right edge and the SIM tray resides on the left edge. The bottom edge houses a 3.5mm headphone jack, a standard USB charging and data syncing port and speaker grills. Pretty familiar and simple, right?
Display
Here comes the most beautiful part of the device, the display. It’s a 1080×2160 resolution, 5.93-inch IPS LCD Display with a pixel density of 407ppi which is great at this price point. The phone seems pretty good for media consumption with good color reproduction. The screen is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass scratch resistant display.

Features
The Honor 7X is a feature rich phone with a big screen. The device produces good sound output via the 3.5mm jack and the speaker is loud enough.
The big 18:9 screen makes it an ideal device for watching videos and playing games. The device also has some unique features to stand out from the competition such as OneKey Split screen which helps you to use two apps simultaneously by dividing your screen into two sections. Another feature of the device is called a WiFi Bridge which lets you use your smartphone as a WiFi Router and further connect up to 4 devices and share the internet with your friends.
Final Verdict
As I said earlier, the Honor 7X is one of the best value Android devices ever. The camera performance is great and offers a lot of modes like portrait mode and even manual mode. The camera can also record slo-mo and Timelapse videos. The battery backup on the phone is quite good and easily last for two days as promised by the company. The 18:9 display is a pleasure to use and consume any kind of media. The Kirin 659 processor which is an in-house production of Huawei performs very well and can be considered equivalent to Snapdragon 625 but with better battery management. The device played most of the games smoothly.
The Honor 7X provides a large screen experience at a killer price. The 2.5D curved glass and a curved metal back make it a delight to hold the device in the hand. The phone definitely feels like a premium phone priced at around 25 thousand but the fact that the price is Rs 12,999 for the 32GB variant while the 64GB variant is priced at Rs 15,999 and is exclusively available at Amazon India.
