June Launch set for Nokia 3310, Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 in India

HMD Global will launch full-range of Nokia Phones in India in June. HMD Global holds the right to Nokia and the company unveiled Nokia 6, 5, 3 and a reincarnation of the legendary Nokia 3310 in January this year. The company said it will release full-set of Nokia smartphones in 120 markets in Q2 of 2017.

Earlier, Nokia 6 was released in China and it was a big hit there. There have been a lot of rumors regarding the release date of Nokia smartphones. However, it is now confirmed by India Today Tech that all Nokia phones will be launched in India in June.

Recently, Nokia 3310 (2017) was listed on an online retailer website ‘OnlyMobiles.com’ priced at Rs 3,899. In the meantime, a UK retailer opened pre-booking for Nokia 5, 3 and 3310(2017) revealing the prices and expected release dates. Nokia 6 will be exclusive to Carphone Warehouse for some time and that’s why Clove hasn’t opened pre-orders for the device, but pricing has been revealed in the listings.

The Nokia 6 has been listed at 229.99 pounds (roughly Rs 19,000), the Nokia 5 for 189.99 pounds (roughly Rs 15,700), the Nokia 3 for 149.99 pounds (Roughly Rs 12,400) and the Nokia 3310 for 59.99 (roughly Rs 4,900) pounds.

It is worth noting that the above prices are for UK market and it might differ in the Indian market. Let us recall what Nokia is offering with their phones.

Nokia 3310 (2017) is a feature phone which comes with a 2.4-inch display, a 2MP rear camera, 2G connectivity, micrisD card support. The device comes with a 1200mAh battery which company claims to give 22 hours of talk-time and 30 days of standby.

Nokia Android Devices

We have already discussed what to expect from Nokia android devices. Let us have a look at all three of them once again.

Nokia 6 will be the device to look out featuring a 5.5-inch HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with 3GB RAM. It will have a microSD card support with 32GB internal storage. On the camera front, it will feature a 16MP rear Camera with PDAF and an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies.

Nokia 5 is a mid-range device which comes with a smaller 5.2-inch 720p HD display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage which can be expanded via a microSD card. The device runs Snapdragon 430 processor with a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera.

Nokia 3 is the cheapest of all and it might come with a MediaTek MTK 6737 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, 8MP front and rear cameras and a 5.0-inch 720p HD display.

We also expect Nokia devices to run Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box. The China variant of Nokia 6 recently received an update to Android 7.1.1.

Indian market will be crucial for Nokia and it will be interesting to see how it performs with such stiff competition. With no premium flagship devices, the company will look to target the mid-range section.
