LG Q6 was announced last month, and it will go on sale in India on August 10 exclusively via Amazon India. The LG Q6 lineup brings the G6’s FullVision Display to the affordable smartphones. It is also being called the mini G6.
The South Korean manufacturer took to Twitter to announce that Q6 will be revealed on Aug 10 and will be sold exclusively via Amazon India. The Twitter post also teases with the price at Rs 1_,990 and as per the rumors, it could be priced anywhere between Rs 17,990 to Rs 19,990.
The highlight of the device is the 5.5-inch Full HD+ Display (2160 x 1080) which features the LG’s FullVision Display. LG introduced the 18:9 FullVision display with the LG G6 launched at the MWC 2017. Now, the LG Q6 also comes with the same FullVision display with 442 pixels per inch and an aspect ratio of 18:9.
The phone features a sleek design with minimum bezels and rounded display corners, like the G6. The device comes in an aluminum frame but the back is made out of plastic. The Power button lies on the right-edge while the Volume Rocker, Dual SIM tray and the MicroSD card slot sits on the left-edge. The device has also got the MIL-STD 810G military certification which is rare in a mid-range smartphone.
LG Q6 is powered by the 64-bit Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB of RAM. There is 32GB of onboard storage that can be further expanded using the dedicated MicroSD card slot. The device runs Android Nougat 7.1.1 out of the box. In terms of optics, there is a 13MP camera on the rear with LED Flash and a 5MP front shooter with 100-degree wide-angle lens. The device measures 142.5 x 69.3 x 8.1 mm and weighs 149 grams.
The device comes with a 3,000mAh non-removable battery which should easily last you a day. It supports Dual SIM with 4G VoLTE connectivity. While the LG Q6 misses the fingerprint sensor, it includes the face unlock and knock code to make the device secure.
Looking to buy a smartphone with 18:9 displays?Thankfully LG is focused on bringing its wonderful FullVision display tech to lower-end devices. The display is beautiful, vivid and vibrant. The LG Q6 comes with a new UI
Thankfully LG is focused on bringing its wonderful FullVision display tech to lower-end devices. The display is beautiful, vivid and vibrant. The LG Q6 comes with LG’s UX 6.0 skin which is designed to take full advantage of Android Nougat. It also brings the Square Camera Mode which was first introduced in LG G6. The device will be available in Astro Black, Ice Platinum, and Terra Gold color options. LG also partnered with Reliance Jio to offer 50GB of additional 4G data with the every purchase of LG Q6. The company will also offer screen replacement and Rs. 3,200 worth of games for free.
I personally think that LG’s adaptation of 18:9 display is better than Samsung, also the Military Certifications which come with LG devices make the devices more durable than Samsung. LG is looking to make a mark in the mid-range market by bringing its Flagship features in lower-end phones. This is a good move by LG citing the recent drop in smartphone sales, the LG G6 failed to appeal to the audience all over the world despite being one of the best looking phones in the market.
