Xiaomi is all set to launch its first 5G smartphone in India on 8th May. Xiaomi Mi 10 will be the company’s first 5G smartphone in India. The company will announce the 108-megapixel smartphone through a Livestream launch event on Friday, 8th May at 12 PM. The Mi 10 India launch was previously postponed due to the coronavirus lockdown in the country. The government has now allowed e-commerce platforms to deliver non-essential products in select zones across the country. Xiaomi is quick to pounce upon the opportunity by announcing new products in the country. The Mi 10 5G will also go on sale via Amazon India. The global variant of Mi 10 5G is already in the market with Android 10 based MIUI 11 with ads. It has been criticized by consumers across the globe including China. While the company claimed to deliver an ad-free MIUI experience in the country. Additionally, the Indian variant of the device will come with dual-SIM support.

Mi 10 sports a 6.67-inch FHD+ 3D curved AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It is a punch-hole display for the selfie camera and features an in-display fingerprint sensor. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 865 5G chipset coupled with Adreno 650 GPU to deliver amazing graphics. It is paired with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage while the base variant may come with an 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The highlights of the smartphone is its quad-camera setup that includes a 108MP main camera, a 13MP wide-angle lens, and two 2MP sensors. Xiaomi claims that it is the largest sensor on a smartphone. We have also seen it on Motorola Edge Plus which will debut in India soon. The phone houses a 4,780mAh battery and supports 30W fast wired and wireless fast charging. The device will compete with the likes of OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro.
The company will also launch the Mi TV Box and Xiaomi’s new wireless earphones which might be called Mi Air 2.
