It bears a resolution of 2340 x 1080p, a 90Hz refresh rate, and an aspect ratio of 21:9. There is a punch-hole cut-out on the top left for the selfie camera. The Edge+ is a 5G smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 865 chipset coupled with 12GB LPDDR5 and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage under the hood. The smartphone derives its power by a 5000mAh battery and supports 15W TurboCharge wired and wireless charging.
The Motorola flagship features a 108MP camera like the recently launched Xiaomi Mi 10. The main sensor comes with an f/1.8 aperture with Quad Pixel Technology (pixel binning) and supports Optical Image Stabilization. There is a 16MP f/2.2 aperture ultrawide lens with a 117-degree field of view. It also doubles as a Time of Flight sensor (TOF) which enables bokeh and portrait shots. The third is an 8MP f/2.4 aperture telephoto lens with a 3x optical zoom. At the front, there is a 25MP punch-hole f/2.0 aperture lens for selfies which also uses the Quad Pixel Technology. The smartphone is capable of recording 6K UHD videos.
On the software front, the smartphone comes with Android 10 out of the box with signature Moto actions and new Edge features including Edge gaming and Edge notification. There is an In-Display fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm headphone jack, and stereo speaker tuned by Waves audio. There is no IP rating for the device rather a splash-resistant coating which is a let down considering a flagship.
Price and Availability
The Motorola Edge+ is priced at $999 in the US which translates to ₹76,000 in INR. However, we expect it to be priced more aggressively in India as it will be competing with the OnePlus 8 series and Mi 10. As far as the availability is concerned, we will get an update on 19th May.
