OnePlus announced that the OnePlus 7 launch event will be held on 14th May 2019. The company has already started sending invitations for the event. Earlier this week, OnePlus confirmed that there will be a Pro variant to the OnePlus 7. The OnePlus founder also confirmed a 5G variant of the One Plus 7 in a Tweet.

Pete Lau also confirmed that both the OnePlus phones will utilize an all-new display technology. Leaks show that the OnePlus 7 Pro will sport a Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a 4000mAh battery with 30W Warp Charge, and three rear cameras. The OnePlus 7 Pro has been leaked with a pop-up selfie camera and a curved-edge which looks new in the OnePlus family.

As far as the specifications are concerned, the leaks have shown that the OnePlus 7 will have a 6.4-inch Full HD+ (1080x2430p) waterdrop notch display and come with the dual rear camera setup. It will probably be a 48MP primary sensor with an f/1.7 lens and a 5MP depth sensor. It might come in two storage variants, with 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage. The device might include a 3,700mAh battery along with 20W charging support.

The OnePlus 7 Pro will feature a larger 6.7-inch QHD+ (1440x3120p) display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The device will run on the new Snapdragon 855 SoC and is powered by a 4,000mAh 30W warp charging. Among others, there is an In-display fingerprint sensor, a triple camera setup with one 48MP primary sensor along with a 16MP f/1.6 lens and OIS, an 8MP sensor with a telephoto f/2.4 lens, and a 16MP sensor with a wide-angle f/2.2 lens and 117-degree field of view.

OnePlus has one of the fastest charging in the industry and has not introduced Wireless Charging yet. However, OnePlus just dropped a hint that the device will be Water Resistant.

But the small video at the same time also says that the ratings cost money which means there will be no IP rating this time as well. It is a big let down though!! I would have loved the new OnePlus to have an IP rating.

Display

Display Mate is all praise for the new display on the OnePlus 7 Pro. The device was recently awarded the highest A+ rating. The other shortcoming on the devices was the camera which was not at par with the flagship devices of other OEM’s like Samsung, Huawei, and Google.

It is rumored that the 7 Pro will come with a notch less curved display while the OnePlus 7 will sport a teardrop notch to house the selfie camera.

Camera

The rumors have it that the OnePlus 7 Pro will get a massive camera overhaul. The OnePlus users have been eagerly waiting to use a flagship camera on a OnePlus device. A recent teaser confirms the triple camera set up at the back which could possibly be for the 7 Pro while the will sport a dual camera setup.

The company has certainly taken a leap by including a 48MP sensor instead of the 16MP sensor found in the 6T. Apart from the 48MP primary sensor, there is a 16MP sensor with f/1.6 and an 8MP sensor telephoto lens with a 3X zoom.
