The latest OnePlus device is here, and it is called the OnePlus 8T. The device is powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 which also powers other OnePlus 8 series devices. Now we all know that the T series is always about more optimizations than the specifications.

OnePlus says that with the OnePlus 8T it has revolutionized the way its users charge their smartphones. The 8T gets a 65W Warp Charging support, the fastest charging technology supported by any of the OnePlus devices yet. The fun does not end here. The OnePlus 8T is one of the few devices in the world running on the Android 11 based operating system out of the box.

The company has also partnered with Snapchat and Bitmoji to launch Bitmoji AOD for the OxygenOS 11. So, get ready to see some cool Always On Display with the OnePlus 8T.

Let’s take a look at the specifications and price of the smartphone.

OnePlus 8T Specifications

Display

The 8T comes with a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with support for 120Hz refresh rate and 1100nits of maximum brightness. It also supports the HDR10+ and is the first smartphone in the world that comes with a 120Hz flat display. The display on the OnePlus 8T has received an A+ rating from DisplayMate.

Hardware

The OnePlus 8T is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865. The device will be available in two variants, the 8GB RAM paired with 128GB internal storage and 12GB RAM paired with 256GB internal storage. Both the variants come with UFS 3.1 and remember OnePlus devices do not support MicroSD cards. So, tread carefully or, you might regret it later. The smartphone supports 5G connectivity thanks to the Qualcomm chipset.

Software

The device comes with Oxygen OS 11 based on Android 11 out of the box. Similar to the other OnePlus devices, the software experience on the OnePlus 8T is quite promising. The software is well optimized for single-hand usage while the 120Hz refresh rate helps deliver the smoothest experience ever.

Some of you might be interested in the new gaming mode on the device. It comes with new Gaming tools that feature Mis-Touch prevention, Fnatic mode, Screen recorder, improved notification, and floating window for social media access.

Battery

The OnePlus 8T is equipped with a 4500mAh battery that supports 65W Warp Charge. The company claims that the new fast charging technology can charge the phone in just 39 minutes. It’s crazy fast.

Now, this fast charging tech can really get your device to heat up sometimes. But OnePlus has got you covered here with a 285% larger vapor chamber than other OnePlus devices to keep it cool.

To add, there is no wireless charging on the 8T.

Camera

In terms of camera, the OnePlus 8T comes with a quad-camera setup in the rear. The primary sensor is a 48MP lens that supports OIS, a 16MP ultra-wide-angle (123 degrees) sensor, a 5MP macro sensor, and a 2MP monochrome sensor. There are two LED flashes in the camera module which I doubt will be any good as only one of them works at a time. The camera sensor is the same as the OnePlus 8 and 7T but it packs in a few software tweaks to make it perform better.

For videos, the company has added support of Video Nightscape mode to shoot better in low light conditions. The phone can shoot 4k videos at 30 and 60 fps along with Super slow-mo and timelapse videos.

The front camera is a 16MP shooter and works as expected.

Not to forget, the audio experience is great on the device. The dual stereo speakers with the Dolby Atmos support does the job.
