Huawei launched its much-awaited smartphone the Honor 6X yesterday on Amazon India. The smartphone will be exclusively available on Amazon India. As expected Huawei has priced the device very competitively. Honor 6X has been launched in two variants -3GB RAM + 32GB inbuilt storage priced at Rs. 12,999 and 4GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage at Rs. 15,999. Users can now register for the sale on 2nd February.
Amazon India is also offering 10% cashback on SBI credit cards.
Design and Build
Honor 6X is an all metal unibody device which feels good to hold. This also makes the phone a bit slippery and a back cover is recommended. The gentle curves compliments its looks. The 5.5 inch display looks good with thin bezels on the sides. The Full-HD display has good viewing angles and performs well in the outdoors.
On the left side, there is a hybrid SIM card slot which can accommodate a MicroSD card in the second slot. On the right there is a volume rocker and a power button. There is a Micro-USB port, a speaker grill and a microphone at the bottom.
The Honor 6X has a dual-camera setup, LED flash and a fingerprint sensor at the back. Overall, the device is well build and looks good but fails to provide a good grip.
Honor 6X Specs
The Honor 6X is powered by a Hisilicon Octa-core Kirin 655 processor with 4 cores at 2.1GHz and the other 4 at 1.7GHz. The device runs EMUI 4.1 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The company says EMUI 5.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat, will be available in Q2 2017. The Honor 6X has a 5.5 inch Full-HD display(1080x1920p) and has a pixel density of 403ppi with 2.5D curved glass.
The highlight of the phone is the rear dual camera setup.
Camera
The Honor 6X features a dual rear camera setup with one 12MP Sony IMX386 sensor that supports PDAF and an additional 2MP sensor which provides an excellent depth-of-field or bokeh effect. The dual camera setup enables wide aperture range of f/0.95-f/1.6. There is a 8MP front camera with a 77-degree wide-angle lens and 1.25-micron pixels.
The connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, and GPS/ A-GPS. The smartphone is powered by a 3340mAh battery with fast charging support.
The device is packed with accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and a magnetometer.
