Yes, you heard it right. Google Maps will now help you find a public toilet in Delhi-NCR and Madhya Pradesh.
Taking a step towards making India cleaner, Minister of Urban Development (MoUD) M. Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday launched a Google Map ‘toilet locator’ to help people find access to clean public restrooms.
To use the new feature, Google Maps users on Android, iOS and even desktop will need to search for ‘Public Toilets’. They will be shown public toilets near them, alongside the exact address and opening hours. The feature is available in both English and Hindi. That’s not all, each public toilet will also feature a star rating based on the reviews of previous visitors.
Google specifies that regions covered include Delhi, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Noida, Faridabad, Bhopal and Indore. The service will soon be available for other cities.
