Motorola is back with the Moto X series which was launched at the IFA 2017 held in Berlin. The Moto X4 is a mid range device with dual cameras and premium built quality. Moto X series is back after 2 years with a design refresh to better align with the other Motorola phones.
The Moto X4 looks very similar to the other Motorola devices with a circular camera module at the back, a rounded fingerprint scanner at the front and a front LED flash for selfies. This phone completes the Motorola’s 2017 range right from the budget to premium smartphones.
The Moto X4 features a 5.2-inch Full HD Display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and will be available in either Super Black or Sterling Blue. The device will come with a 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage or a 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Both the variants will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor with Adreno 508 GPU. The device measures at 148.35 x 73.4 x 7.99 mm and weighing in at 163 grams.
As far as the design is concerned, there is a fingerprint scanner at the bottom of the Display which doubles as the home button. The device has a USB-Type C but does not compromise on the 3.5mm audio jack.
At the top, there is a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1.0µm pixel size, which Motorola says is designed for ultra low-light selfies and will come with an Adaptive Low Light mode. This camera is capable of shooting 4k video at 30 frames per second or Full HD video at 60 frames per second.
Unlike any other Motorola device, the Moto X4 has a glass back which shimmers nicely when held in the light. Also on the back is the dual camera, which sees a 12MP main camera with dual autofocus, f/2.0 aperture, and 1.4µm pixel size paired with an 8MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture, 1.12µm pixel size and 120° field of view. The camera comes with dual-LED flash, Phase Detection Autofocus and the ability to add depth of field effects, like most other dual camera devices
