The company hasn’t revealed any details about the upcoming device so far. However, a day after the company’s tweet the device got listed online by a retailer called Oppomart revealing the dual camera setup, price and full set of specifications. The listing also revealed OnePlus 5 will start shipping in the first half of June this year.
OnePlus 5 Specifications
The device is expected to feature a 5.5-inch QHD (2560×1440 pixels) resolution display and have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, coupled with 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64/128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. OnePlus 5 sports a dual-camera setup at the back with two 12MP lenses is a single housing. It has an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies. Some other features expected include a fingerprint sensor mounted on the front, Dash Charge 2.0 technology, 4G LTE and dual-SIM card support, as well as a 3,850mAh battery.
There is not a huge design overhaul except the camera set-up. As per the listing, the OnePlus 5 will cost $449 which is around Rs 28,800 which is highly unlikely because the OnePlus 3T(64GB) costs Rs 29,999 in India.
In another leak, a website called True-tech.net recently shared four images, which are claimed to have been shot using the OnePlus 5’s camera. The EXIF data from the images shows that they have been clicked using a device bearing model number A5000, which falls in line with the device numbers of previous OnePlus models. The OnePlus 3 came with model number A3000 number. Also, the location details mentioned in the data suggest that the images were taken in Shenzhen, China, which is where the headquarters of OnePlus are located.
The company hasn’t confirmed anything about the upcoming device yet. The price claims in the listing make the claims highly doubtful. We will have to wait for OnePlus to raise the curtain from their new offering.
