Xiaomi has aggressively priced its recently launched smartphones in India. When compared to OnePlus, there is no doubt Xiaomi launched some great smartphones in the market. Xiaomi used to target the budget segments but, the company has recently shifted the focus to flagship devices. Recently launched Xiaomi 11T Pro is in direct competition with the OnePlus 9RT. While the OnePlus 9RT and Xiaomi 11T Pro both are excellent smartphones, we have listed down five reasons to choose Xiaomi 11T Pro over the OnePlus 9RT.
1. Better Display
Xiaomi 11T Pro and OnePlus 9RT packs a 120Hz AMOLED display with HDR10+ certification. While the Xiaomi 11T Pro has a larger 6.67-inch display, the OnePlus packs a smaller 6.62-inch AMOLED panel. The 11T Pro supports Dolby Vision with a peak brightness of up to 1000 nits, while the OnePlus 9RT has a peak brightness of up to 1200 nits. The touch sampling rate on the OnePlus goes up to 600Hz while the 11T Pro supports only up to 480Hz touch sampling rate.
The Xiaomi 11T Pro sports Gorilla Glass Victus that offers better drop protection than the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the OnePlus 9RT. The Xiaomi 11T Pro has a slight edge over the OnePlus as the 10-bit AMOLED panel with over 1 billion colors. It has won 14 DisplayMate awards and the highest possible DisplayMate A+ rating.
In terms of audio, while both phones come with stereo speakers, the one on the Xiaomi 11T Pro has been designed and tuned by Harman Kardon. The dual symmetrical stereo speakers on Xiaomi 11T Pro, one at the top and the other at the bottom give equal 1:1 output. While the OnePlus 9RT has a speaker built in the earpiece and the other at the bottom. The speakers on Xiaomi 11T Pro are Dolby Atmos-certified and are capable of producing 24-bit/192kHz Hi-res audio which gives it an edge over the OnePlus 9RT.
2. Bigger Battery & Faster Charging
Xiaomi 11T Pro leads the OnePlus 9RT is in the battery and charging department. The OnePlus 9RT packs a 4,500mAh battery supported by 65T Warp Charge technology. On the other hand, Xiaomi 11T Pro features one of the fastest 120W Xiaomi HyperCharge technology with a 5000mAh battery. Despite packing a bigger 5,000mAh battery, the phone can charge from zero to a hundred percent in just 17 minutes. When compared, the OnePlus 9RT takes 29 minutes to charge fully. The Xiaomi 11T Pro sports the best in class 120W HyperCharge technology.
After looking at the above facts, Xiaomi 11T Pro emerges as a clear winner among both. The goodness does not end here. Xiaomi has built-in several safety features to ensure the safe charging of the battery. The company claims to have packed 34 charging and battery safety features. Nine thermal sensors monitor the real-time temperature, ensuring safe charging at all times.
3. Better Camera
OnePlus might have stepped into the flagship game but it has always struggled in the camera department. The OnePlus 9RT sports a triple camera system with a 50MP primary sensor, and it can capture astonishing photos and videos. However, the 108MP primary sensor on the Xiaomi 11T Pro offers way more features to capture crisp and clear pictures in every condition. It is the only device in the segment that offers end-to-end HDR 10+ recording. That means you can both record and watch HDR 10+ content.
Xiaomi 11T Pro lets you record 8K videos at 30fps. On the other hand, 4K is the only option for OnePlus 9RT users. The 5MP macro lens is better than the 2MP macro lens on the OnePlus 9RT. This 5MP macro lens even lets you record a full HD video on it. Another interesting feature is Audio Zoom. It uses the triple microphone array to get audibly closer to the subject as you zoom in at it.
4. Better 5G support
Both Xiaomi 11T Pro and OnePlus 9RT are powered by the same flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset. So no matter which phone you buy, performance is guaranteed. However, there is one thing that you might want to know before choosing one of the two.
OnePlus gave us good news when it announced that their latest flagship OnePlus 9RT supports eight 5G bands while Xiaomi 11T Pro supports 13 5G bands. Now, that sounds like a safe investment. Isn’t it?
MIUI has come a long way to offer a smooth and feature-packed Android experience. The company promises to provide three years of software and four years of security updates. The same is the case with the OnePlus 9RT, the company has merged its code with Color OS which will allow them to give timely updates.
5. Better Pricing
When it comes to pricing, both Xiaomi 11T Pro and the OnePlus 9RT are quite comparatively priced. The OnePlus 9RT comes in two storage variants. The 8GB+128GB variant costs Rs 42,999 while the effective price (Rs 4000 off on Axis Bank cards) is Rs 38,999. The 12GB+256GB variant costs Rs 46,999 while effective price (Rs 4000 off on Axis Bank cards) is Rs 42,999.

The Xiaomi 11T Pro also offers another option with an 8GB+256GB storage variant which is priced at Rs 41,999. I think the 8GB+256GB variant makes more sense with virtual RAM and can also some money if you do not want to buy the 12GB variant. Thus, Xiaomi 11T Pro can save you some of your hard-earned money.

As far as the software is concerned, OnePlus offers a clean Android UI while MIUI’s interface is a bit fancy. Although, the Xiaomi 11T Pro runs on MIUI 12.5 based on Android 12 with very little bloatware. The OnePlus 9RT on the other hand comes with Android 11 out of the box with an Android 12 update promised soon.
If you can avoid the MIUI’s fancy appearance Xiaomi 11T Pro is a better option to buy. Otherwise, the OnePlus 9RT is not a bad option at all.
