Samsung Galaxy S10 Lineup Launched, What’s New?

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lineup with S10, S10+ and the much affordable S10e mark the 10th anniversary of Samsung Galaxy S lineup.

Samsung has revealed its 2019 flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S10 series at Samsung Unpacked event in San Francisco. Samsung announced the all-new Samsung Galaxy S10 series with a much awaited Galaxy Fold. The upcoming devices also mark the 10th year anniversary of the Galaxy S lineup. The smartphones were first launched in 2010.

The company surprised everyone by announcing not 3 but 4 smartphones in the upcoming lineup which includes the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G. With the Galaxy S10e Samsung will look to target the affordable flagship market which is currently dominated by OnePlus, Honor and Huawei smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy S10

The Samsung Galaxy S10 is the most anticipated flagship of 2019 till now. It comes with a lot of impressive specs and a new improved display.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 is the world’s first smartphone to come with an Ultrasonic In-Display fingerprint scanner. The device will be either powered by Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9820 depending on the region. The device will feature a 6.1-inch Infinity-O Display which is a QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED curved panel. It has a resolution of 3040 x 1440p which is protected by Gorilla Glass 6 on both front and rear.

As far as the optics are concerned, there is a dual camera set up at the back which comprises of a 12MP (f/1.5-2.4) sensor and a 16MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide sensor. The device comes with a 10MP (f/1.9) front camera which is housed in the Punch-Hole Display.

The Galaxy S10 has a 3400mAh battery with Fast Wireless Charging 2.0. Samsung has also introduced Wireless Power Share which was demonstrated with Galaxy pods.

Price & Availability

The Samsung Galaxy S10 is available in four colors including Prism Black, Prism White, Prism Blue, and Prism Green. Samsung Galaxy S10 is available in 2 storage variants:

  • 6GB RAM / 128GB internal storage is priced at Rs 66,900/-
  • 8GB RAM / 512GB internal storage is priced at Rs 84,900/-

Samsung Galaxy S10e

The Galaxy S10e is a new addition to the Galaxy S10 lineup and the most affordable of all three. The smartphone looks stunning with a 5.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED HDR+ panel. It sports the new Infinity-O display with a Punch-hole camera. The display has a resolution of 2280 x 1080p and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back.

The smartphone features a side mounted fingerprint sensor which doubles as a power button. If the rumors are to be believed, the smartphone will be either powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC or Samsung’s own Exynos 9820 SoC.

As far as the optics are concerned, there is a dual camera set up at the back which comprises of a 12MP (f/1.5-2.4) sensor and a 16MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide sensor. The device comes with a 10MP (f/1.9) front camera which is housed in the Punch-Hole Display.

In terms of features, the S10e sits between S10 ad S10+. The S10e makes space for a more affordable device with flagship features.

Price & Availability

The Samsung Galaxy S10e is the most affordable option of the lot. It is available in Prism White and Prism Black color variant. The device will be available in a 6GB / 128GB storage variant priced at Rs 55,900 in India.

The Galaxy S10+ is the most expensive of the S10 lineup. Samsung has laden this device with all the possible technology and features. The device sports a 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED HDR+ panel. Infinity-O Display with a resolution of 3040 x 1440p which is protected by Gorilla Glass 6 at the front and rear.

Similar to the Galaxy S10, the S10+ will either be powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC or Samsung’s own Exynos 9820 SoC. Again like the S10, it will have an ultrasonic In-Display fingerprint scanner and 3D face recognition technology.

In terms of optics, the device comes with a dual front camera setup: 10MP (f/1.9) and an 8MP (f/2.2) sensor placed in a hole-punch display. While at the back, there is a triple camera set-up which consists of a 16MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide sensor with 12MP (f/1.5-2.4) sensor and a 12MP (f/2.4) telephoto lens.

The Galaxy S10+ comes with Samsung’s new One UI based on the Android 9.0 Pie and a 4100mAH battery. The device comes equipped with fast wireless charging as well as reverse wireless charging.

Price & Availability

The Samsung Galaxy S10+ is the most expensive of all and is available in Prism White, Prism Black, Prism Blue and Ceramic Black color options. Ceramic Black is exclusive to the 512GB storage variant.

  • 6GB RAM / 128GB internal storage is priced at Rs 73,900/-
  • 8GB RAM / 512GB internal storage is priced at Rs 91,900/-

Here are a few things to look out for:

Camera: Samsung has nailed it with the triple camera setup. The camera performs very well with a Telephoto lens and an Ultra-wide lens.

Design: Samsung came up with a brilliant design with Punch-hole display and an ultra-sonic In-Display fingerprint sensor which is probably the fastest in-display fingerprint sensor in the world.

Battery: The device supports Reverse Wireless Charging the feature we first saw in Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
