The smartphone market was dominated by the ‘dual camera’ technology with iPhone 7 sporting dual cameras. We are likely to see more ‘dual camera’ phones this year at more affordable prices. The Coolpad Cool 1 with dual rear cmaeras was launched at just Rs. 13,999 last month.
It’s 2017 and Huawei’s economy brand Honor has announced it’s most anticipated Honor 6X at CES. The Honor 6X is easily one of the most affordable smartphones having primary dual cameras. The phone is priced at $250, though there is no word on its India launch.
Specifications and Features
Huawei Honor 6X comes with a 5.50-inch touchscreen Full-HD display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels.
The device is powered by octa-core Kirin 655 processor and it comes with 3GB of RAM. The phone packs 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. The Huawei Honor 6X runs Android 6.0, with the company’s EMUI 4.0 on top and is powered by a 3340mAh non removable battery.
The dual cameras – one sensor 12MP colour, the other a 2MP sensor used for depth sensing – are stacked vertically in a single protruding design. The rear also houses the circular fingerprint scanner.
The Huawei Honor 6X is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. Sensors on the phone include Proximity sensor, Accelerometer and Ambient light sensor.
For now, Honor 6X seems to be a decent attempt to make affordable dual rear camera smartphones a reality. The company has so far not announced when they will going to bring the Honor 6X to India, but it might be expected to launch later this month, well below Rs 15,000.
