OnePlus has recently launched their new flagship device the OnePlus 5 and they have been able to get the attention they wanted. But, if you are one of those people who still ask this question“Why should I buy OnePlus 5?“, we’ve got you covered.
OnePlus 5 is out on sale today in India via Amazon India and here is why you should buy it.
The device is available in two variants; the 6GB/64GB variant is priced at Rs 32,999 and the 8GB/128GB variant is priced at Rs 37,999.
Now the OnePlus 5 comes with a cashback offer of Rs 1500 on SBI cards, which can be availed only on 27th and 28th June. You can also avail a free accidental insurance by Servify which requires you to make an account on Kotak 811 (zero balance account) via mobile.
This is the first time OnePlus have used a Dual Camera, but we take it as a positive point for OnePlus as they are bringing out the latest technology to their customers. What’s even more appealing is that the OnePlus 5 imitates the dual camera setup on the Apple iPhone 7 Plus. It offers the same 2x zoom features in the ‘Portrait Mode’ and its fairly ease to use. The OnePlus 5 has the highest resolution dual camera system on any smartphone – with its 16 MP f/1.7 primary sensor and 20 MP 2x f/2.6 telephoto lens – providing excellent ‘Depth of Feel’ effect.
There are some issues which can be fixed by software updates and we already have the first update rolling out with camera tweaks.
The Build Quality
The device has a metal unibody and gets a complete design overhaul. The device comes with an Alert Slider which is unique to OnePlus and a matte finish at the back which feels nice to hold in the hand. The rounded edges enhance the grip of the phone but it also makes it look like an Apple iPhone 7. A lot of people might not like it but I don’t think that’s much of a problem.
OnePlus has one of the best skins available in the market. The Oxygen OS offers very stock-like Android skin which offers a lot of features and customizations along with a fast and optimized ROM. Some of the features include a blue-light filter, expanded screenshots, adding on-screen navigation buttons, customizable off screen gestures, double tap to wake and a dark theme. It also offers a grayscale reading mode.
Along with this, the Oxygen OS comes with the latest Android Nougat 7.1.1 out of the box which offers native Android features like split screen, New Emoji, switch between apps with a double tap, Doze on the go which helps in better power management.
Dash Charge again is one of the best fast charging technologies available on any Android Flagship. It’s a rebranded VOOC fast charging from its sister company OPPO. The company claims full day power in 30-minute charge and can charge more than half of its 3,300 mAh battery. The company also claims better battery life despite a smaller battery than OnePlus 3T.
It might be noted that OnePlus was recently exposed on cheating benchmarks for OnePlus 5.
But we have to admit that OnePlus 5 is a beast. The performance is great and the device is incredibly fast. Even the fingerprint sensor is one of the fastest and unlocks in 0.2 seconds which is faster than Apple’s Touch ID.
