Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 launched: Specifications, Features and Price

Note 4

Update: The Redmi Note 4 to go on sale today at 12 noon on Flipkart.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 was a huge hit last year and now Xiaomi wants to do the same with its successor Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. Xiaomi’s latest launch has made the competition more tough in the Rs. 10,000 to Rs.15,000 bracket.

Xiaomi is claiming to have sold out 2,50,000 units of the smartphone within 10 minutes of the first sale on Flipkart and Mi.com. Xiaomi also said that within five days of the phone’s official announcement, it has crossed over one million ‘Notify Me’ requests and five million unique visitors on Mi.com and Flipkart.

Redmi Note 4 will go on sale again on 21 April on both Mi.com and Flipkart at the starting price of Rs 9,999 for the 2GB RAM + 32GB ROM variant, Rs 10,999 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM version and Rs 12,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB variant.

Redmi Note 4 Design and Build

The device comes with an all metal, unibody design. It has a curved back, and there’s a 2.5D curved glass all over the front, which is a first for a Redmi phone. The camera is right in the middle of the back and the fingerprint scanner is just below the camera and the dual-LED flash. At the bottom, there are two speaker grills and a Micro-USB port for data syncing and charging. There’s a 3.5mm headphone jack on top.

Redmi Note 4 also has a hybrid dual-SIM slot which means you can either snap in a two SIMs or a SIM and a Micro-SD card. The design and built quality are almost same as the Redmi Note 3.

Redmi Note 4 Specifications

The smartphone is equipped with a 5.5-inch Full-HD Display which has a 2.5D curved glass on top of it. The Highlight of the phone is its massive 4100mAh battery. It easily lasts one and a half day on 4G VoLTE networks. The Mi Note 4 is now powered by Snapdragon 625 and scores pretty impressively on the benchmark scores.

On the software front, the Note 4 comes with MIUI 8 based on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1. The color options are Gold, Grey and Black.

The camera on Redmi Note 4 is decent but not the best. The 13MP rear camera performs well in the daylight but struggles in low light. The front camera is a 5MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture and comes with several beautify modes. The front camera is capable of shooting Full-HD 1080p videos.

Final Verdict

The Redmi Note 4 is no doubt a very good option in Rs. 13,000 price bracket considering the extra storage it offers. The Lenovo K6 Power is an obvious competition to the device and we’ll have to wait and see how it performs.
